Born as Bai-minority in Yunnan, China, Danting started filmmaking at 17. Her video Behavioural Exposure was in Shanghai Biennale 2014.In 2015 she animated for Disney Research China. In 2016 she moved to Berlin and has written and directed shortsOnshore at Southampton (2018), Accident (2019), and Family Trip (2020), which was an official selection in Oscar® qualifying Pan African Film Fest, CSA® qualifying Toronto Black Film Fest, Buenos Aires IFF among others. Her film The Necessity of It and Lucía, Father And Mother! are currently in post-production.
